MCCB for panel builders — 100 A, 3-pole, high interrupting capacity
The Siemens 3VA1010-4ED36-0AD0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release for line protection. It carries 121 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V and 75.6 kA at 415 V, giving the panel designer headroom for high-fault installations. The 3-pole frame is 76.2 mm wide and 130 mm tall, sized for standard distribution panel layouts.
What the ratings mean for your BOM
The 100 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C, then derates to 96 A at 55 °C and 90 A at 70 °C — useful for sealed enclosures or high-ambient machine compartments. The TM210 release is a fixed thermal-magnetic curve; no electronic adjustment or communication module is fitted, so this is a straightforward line-protection breaker without ground-fault or phase-failure detection. Three auxiliary switches (HQ type) are integrated, enough for status feedback to a PLC without an add-on module.
Panel integration notes
Mounts on a DIN rail or panel-mount base. The 70 mm depth leaves clearance for rear-connected busbars in a standard 200 mm deep enclosure. IP40 on the front face means it is suited for dry indoor panels; no washdown rating. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C, storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
