Line protection with 100 A continuous rating and high interrupting capacity
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-4ED36-0AE0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. It delivers 121 kA breaking capacity at 240 V AC, dropping to 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V — meaning it can safely interrupt high fault currents across common low-voltage distribution voltages without upstream cascade failure. The IP40 front protection suits panel-mount installations where the front face is exposed but internal compartments are enclosed.
Current derating across operating temperature range
Rated continuous current holds at 100 A from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates linearly to 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C. If the breaker lives in a warm enclosure — near drives or transformers — factor the ambient temperature against the load current; at 60 °C ambient you lose 6 A of headroom.
Auxiliary switching and panel integration
Fitted with 4 auxiliary switches (HQ type) for remote status indication — two normally open and two normally closed contacts are typical for this configuration, though the exact NO/NC split should be verified from the terminal diagram. The 76.2 mm width (4 module spaces on a standard DIN rail) and 130 mm height fit common distribution panel layouts. Depth of 70 mm leaves room for cable bending behind the panel.
