MCCB for feeder and branch circuit protection
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-4ED36-0BC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release for line protection in distribution panels and motor control centers. Its interrupting capacity hits 121 kA at 240 V AC and 75.6 kA at 415 V AC, which means it can handle high-fault scenarios at common industrial voltages without cascading failure upstream.
Breaking capacity and thermal derating
At 440 V the breaker still clears 52.5 kA; at 690 V it drops to 11.9 kA — the SCCR headroom shrinks as system voltage rises, so coordination studies need the specific voltage point. Thermal derating is minimal through 50 °C (still 100 A), then steps down to 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C — usable in warm enclosures if you account for the drop.
