MCCB for line protection — 100 A frame, 121 kA interrupting
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-4ED36-0DH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a continuous current rating of 100 A at 40 °C, with minimal thermal derating up to 70 °C — still delivering 91 A at the top of its operating range. The interrupting capacity hits 121 kA at 240 V, dropping to 75.6 kA at 415 V and 52.5 kA at 440 V, which gives solid selectivity headroom for downstream branch breakers in high-fault industrial services. The unit ships with an integrated undervoltage release (UVR) and a factory-fitted auxiliary switch block: two auxiliary contacts plus one trip-alarm switch. That means it can signal its status to a PLC or safety relay without a separate add-on module — useful for motor control centers where loss-of-voltage tripping must be annunciated.
Panel fit and integration
The breaker measures 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, and 70 mm deep — a 3-pole frame that fits standard Siemens SENTRON mounting bases and busbar systems. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) means it can be applied in 480/277 V and 600 V panels without voltage derating concerns. Maximum power dissipation is 27.5 W, so thermal rise inside a sealed enclosure should be checked against the panel's heat budget.
