100 A MCCB with 121 kA interrupting — line protection for high-fault panels
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-4ED36-0JC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous at 40 °C, with a maximum breaking capacity of 121 kA at 240 V. That interrupting rating drops to 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at 500 V or 690 V — so the real SCCR headroom depends on your system voltage. Designed for line protection (not motor or feeder), it carries a shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release and two HQ auxiliary switches, making it a fit for remote-trip or alarm circuits in distribution panels.
Thermal derating and panel fit
The 100 A rating holds flat through 50 °C, then derates to 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. If your enclosure runs hot — say a packed panel near a furnace line — knock 9 A off at 70 °C ambient. Dimensions are 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep, which fits standard Siemens 3VA mounting footprints. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module on this variant — it's a straight line-protection breaker with a shunt trip for controlled disconnection.
