The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-4ED42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current, using a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. Its 121 kA breaking capacity at 240 V means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without welding contacts or cascading upstream — sized for high-available-fault-current panels where a standard MCCB would blow through. At 415 V the interrupting rating drops to 75.6 kA, at 440 V to 52.5 kA, and at 500/690 V to 11.9 kA, so the voltage class of the distribution board governs which rating applies.
Thermal derating and panel fit
The 100 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient. Above that it derates: 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. Maximum power loss is 25 W, so in a sealed or tightly-packed enclosure that heat needs to be considered in the thermal budget. The 70 mm depth, 101.6 mm width, and 130 mm height fit a standard 4-pole MCCB footprint on DIN rail or direct-mount plate — no oddball cutout required.
