What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-4ED42-0AC0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current, built for line protection in distribution panels and motor control centers. It carries a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release — the thermal element handles overloads, the magnetic element handles short circuits — and is rated for an insulation voltage of 800 V. The interrupting ratings climb to 121 kA at 240 V and 75.6 kA at 415 V, so it can clear high-fault currents without upstream coordination issues.
Thermal derating and real-world current
The 100 A rating holds from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C. If the breaker lives in a warm enclosure — say, a packed panel near a drive or transformer — that derating curve is the number to size against, not the nameplate 100 A.
Panel fit and integration
The breaker measures 130 mm high, 101.6 mm wide, and 70 mm deep. Front protection is IP40, so it's suited for dry indoor panels. It ships with 2 HQ auxiliary switches for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator. The TM210 release is fixed — no interchangeable trip units — so the 100 A rating is locked in at order time.
