What ships in the carton
The Siemens 3VA1010-4ED42-0AD0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) for line protection, rated 100 A at 40 °C with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. It ships as a 4-pole unit with the basic switch 3VA10104ED420AA0 and three HQ auxiliary switches fitted — no separate accessory order needed for the aux contacts. The interrupting capacity reaches 121 kA at 240 V and 75.6 kA at 415 V, with a rated insulation voltage of 800 V. The kit is complete: no holes in the box for the auxiliary switches.
Interrupting capacity across voltages
The 3VA1010-4ED42-0AD0 delivers 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. That spread covers most industrial line-to-line voltages in North America and Europe. The TM210 release is a fixed thermal-magnetic type — no electronic adjustment, but also no programming step during commissioning.
Thermal derating and ambient limits
Rated 100 A continuous from 40 °C through 50 °C. Above that, derate to 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. Operating ambient range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 25 W. If the panel ambient runs above 50 °C, the continuous current drops — account for that in the load schedule.
Panel fit and mounting
Width 101.6 mm (4 in), height 130 mm (5.12 in), depth 70 mm (2.76 in). Four-pole footprint matches standard SENTRON 3VA mounting slots. No undervoltage release, no voltage trigger, no trip indicator, no communication function — this is a straight line-protection breaker with mechanical aux switches only. Ground-fault monitoring version is without.
