What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1010-4ED42-0AE0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in commercial and industrial distribution panels. It is a 4-pole unit with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release, meaning it handles both overload and short-circuit protection in one device. Rated 100 A continuous at 40 °C, it carries that same rating through 50 °C, then derates to 91 A at 70 °C — useful to know if the breaker sits in a warm enclosure. Breaking capacity is 121 kA at 240 V, dropping to 75.6 kA at 415 V and 52.5 kA at 440 V — still high enough for most secondary distribution applications. At 690 V it holds 11.9 kA. Insulation voltage is rated 800 V.
Integration and mounting
The breaker measures 130 mm high by 101.6 mm wide by 70 mm deep, fitting standard panel-mount cutouts for 4-pole SENTRON MCCBs. It ships with four auxiliary switches (HQ type) pre-installed — verify the auxiliary contact wiring scheme matches your control circuit before panel wiring. Maximum power loss is 25 W; account for that heat in enclosure sizing, especially when grouping multiple breakers. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C, storage -40 °C to 80 °C.
