What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-4ED42-0JH0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, with a continuous current of 100 A up to 50 °C and a thermal derating curve that drops to 91 A at 70 °C. Breaking capacity is 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V — so it handles high-fault utility feeds and large motor branch circuits without cascading upstream. The unit carries a shunt trip (STL) plus two auxiliary switches and one trip alarm switch (HQ), giving the panel builder remote trip and status feedback without an add-on module.
Mounting and fit
Dimensions are 101.6 mm wide, 130 mm tall, and 70 mm deep — standard 4-pole MCCB footprint for DIN-rail or screw-mount panel integration. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the maximum power loss is 25 W — factor that into enclosure thermal calculations if the panel is densely packed.
