What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1020-3ED32-0CA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in distribution panels and motor control centers. It carries a 20 A rated current at 40 °C (derated to 19 A at 60 °C) and a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release — the fixed thermal element handles overloads, the magnetic trip handles short-circuits. An integrated undervoltage release (UVR) lets you drop the breaker on loss of control voltage, which is useful for emergency-stop circuits or undervoltage protection schemes.
Breaking capacity — what the numbers mean
This MCCB's interrupting rating varies with system voltage: 75.6 kA at 240 V AC, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. That means it can safely clear a fault up to those levels without welding contacts or rupturing the case. For a 480 V panel, the 32 kA rating at 440 V is the closest reference — check the exact system voltage against the curve. The insulation voltage is rated 800 V, so the breaker is suitable for 690 V line-to-line systems.
Panel fit and integration
Dimensions: 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. The 3-pole footprint matches standard Siemens 3VA panel cutouts. The undervoltage release is factory-installed — no field wiring of a separate UVR module needed. No communication function or ground-fault monitoring on this variant.
