MCCB for line protection — 20 A, 3-pole, with shunt trip
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1020-3ED32-0HC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 20 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 55 °C, derating to 19 A at 60–70 °C. Breaking capacity reaches 75.6 kA at 240 V AC, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 500 V and 690 V — covering most low-voltage distribution fault levels. Insulation voltage is rated at 800 V, and maximum power loss is 12 W. This MCCB is configured for line protection (cable/feeder) and ships with a factory-installed shunt trip (STL) plus two HQ auxiliary switches. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, and no communication module — it is a straightforward thermal-magnetic breaker for branch-circuit protection where remote tripping via shunt trip is required.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions: 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. The 3-pole MCCB mounts on a DIN rail or panel-mount base. The 70 mm depth (2.76 in) is shallow enough for most distribution enclosures; the 76.2 mm width (3 in) is the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for this current class.
