What this MCCB carries and where it fits
The Siemens 3VA1020-3ED32-0KA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) configured for line protection — three poles, rated continuous current Iu of 20 A, and a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. The breaking capacity is rated per voltage: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. The rated insulation voltage Ui is 800 V. This is a panel-mount device; the front face carries IP40 protection, so it is suited for installation inside a switchboard enclosure where the front is accessible but the live bus is behind the cover.
Thermal derating and the TM210 release
The TM210 release holds its full 20 A rating from 40 °C through 50 °C. Above that, the curve steps down: 19.2 A at 55 °C, 18.8 A at 60 °C, 18.4 A at 65 °C, and 18 A at 70 °C. The operating temperature range is -25 °C to +70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to +80 °C. If the panel ambient runs above 50 °C, the continuous load must be sized against the derated value, not the nameplate 20 A.
Auxiliary release and accessory integration
This variant includes a shunt trip (STL) as the auxiliary release design. The integrated auxiliary trip order code is 3VA9688-0BL33. There is no undervoltage release, no auxiliary contact version, no communication function, no phase failure detection, and no ground fault monitoring. The trip indicator is also absent. For applications requiring remote tripping via a control signal, the shunt trip is present; everything else must be added externally.
