The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1020-3ED46-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection, rated at 20 A continuous current with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. Its breaking capacity reaches 75.6 kA at 240 V AC, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at both 500 V and 690 V — high enough to handle most industrial fault levels without cascading upstream. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the breaker dissipates a maximum 12 W under full load.
Sizing and thermal derating
The 20 A rating holds steady from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 19 A at 60 °C and 70 °C — useful when the breaker sits inside a warm enclosure near other heat sources. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range extends from -40 °C to 80 °C.
