Breaking capacity and protection profile
The Siemens 3VA1020-4ED32-0AC0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 100 molded case circuit breaker rated for 20 A with a TM210 thermal-magnetic trip unit. Overload protection is fixed at Ir=20 A, and short-circuit protection is set at Ii=16 x In, meaning it trips instantaneously at 320 A. The breaking capacity is class S, delivering Icu=36 kA at 415 V AC — enough to interrupt high-fault currents on industrial distribution without upstream coordination headaches. This breaker ships with a nut keeper kit and two factory-installed HQ auxiliary switches, so you get position feedback wired from the panel door without ordering add-on modules separately.
Integration notes
Mounts on standard DIN rail or panel-mount via the frame 100 footprint. The nut keeper kit retains the terminal screws during wiring — saves time on the gland plate when the panel builder is running multiple breakers in a row. Two HQ auxiliary switches occupy the left-side slot; they switch independently of the main contacts, so you can wire a remote trip indication or a PLC digital input without extra interposing relays.
