Line protection MCCB with TM210 release — 20 A frame, 121 kA interrupting capacity
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1020-4ED32-0AD0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for line protection duty, carrying a continuous current Iu of 20 A and a rated insulation voltage Ui of 800 V. The interrupting capacity hits 121 kA at 240 V and 75.6 kA at 415 V — numbers that govern selectivity coordination in high-fault panels. The TM210 thermal-magnetic release is fixed (non-adjustable), so the trip curve is set at the factory; no field tweaking on the thermal or magnetic pickup.
Derating profile and thermal limits
The breaker holds its full 20 A rating from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient. Above that, it derates linearly: 19.2 A at 55 °C, 18.8 A at 60 °C, 18.4 A at 65 °C, and 18 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient runs hot — say, a sealed enclosure near a furnace line — the 18 A floor at 70 °C is the number to size against, not the nameplate 20 A. Operating range spans -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C.
Physical fit and auxiliary configuration
Footprint is 76.2 mm wide by 130 mm tall by 70 mm deep — standard 3-pole MCCB envelope for DIN-rail or panel-mount backplate integration. The front face carries IP40 protection (tool-accessible terminals, no water spray). Ships with three HQ auxiliary switches (form C, high-quantity signal contacts) factory-installed; no undervoltage release, no shunt trip, no ground-fault module on this variant. The auxiliary contact version is 3 auxiliary switches HQ.
