Line protection MCCB with high interrupting capacity
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1020-4ED32-0JC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 20 A continuous current (Iu) and built for line protection duty. Its interrupting capacity hits 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V — numbers that cover most low-voltage distribution panels and motor control centers without needing a current-limiting upstream device. The thermal-magnetic release is a TM210, sized for 20 A at 40 °C through 50 °C with no derating; above that the curve drops to 19.2 A at 55 °C, 18.8 A at 60 °C, 18.4 A at 65 °C, and 18 A at 70 °C. That matters if the breaker lives in a hot enclosure or next to a transformer — the 55 °C derating is where you lose the first amp. A shunt trip (STL) release is integrated for remote tripping, and the auxiliary contact block carries 2 HQ switches. The front face is IP40 rated — fine for a clean panel, but not for washdown zones.
Dimensions and panel fit
The 3VA1020-4ED32-0JC0 measures 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm tall. That 76.2 mm width is a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint — it fits the same DIN-rail or screw-mount slot as other 3VA10-frame breakers, so swapping into an existing SENTRON panel requires no bus-bar rework.
