Breaking capacity varies sharply with system voltage: 52.5 kA at 240 V, 32 kA at 415 V, 13.6 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. For a 480 V plant bus running a motor control center, that 32 kA at 415 V gives a solid margin for most downstream feeder faults — but at 690 V the 7.5 kA number is the one that governs the SCCR sticker on the panel door.
Thermal derating — the real-world current limit
At 55 °C it drops to 24 A, at 60 °C to 23.5 A, at 65 °C to 23 A, and at 70 °C to 22.5 A.
The 3VA1025-2ED32-0BC0 measures 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, and 70 mm deep. That 76.2 mm (3-inch) width is the standard SENTRON 3VA1 frame footprint — it occupies three 25 mm DIN modules. The auxiliary contact version ships with two HQ switches — no separate aux block to order if you need status feedback for the PLC or a remote annunciator.
