The integrated shunt trip (STL) allows remote tripping via a separate control signal — useful for emergency-stop circuits or supervisory shutdown.
This MCCB delivers 52.5 kA at 240 VAC, 32 kA at 415 VAC, and holds 7.5 kA up to 690 VAC. For a 480 V panel, the relevant figure is the 415 V rating (32 kA), which covers most industrial service-entrance and feeder applications. The 690 V rating (7.5 kA) matters if you're on a 600 V class system.
Above that, it derates to 31 A at 55–60 °C and 30 A at 65–70 °C. If your panel runs hot (enclosed switchgear, near ovens, or in a non-climate-controlled electrical room), check the actual ambient at the breaker location — a 30 A continuous load in a 70 °C environment is fine, but don't assume full rating above 50 °C.
No special cutout needed beyond the usual breaker knockout. The shunt trip wiring (STL) requires a separate control voltage; verify polarity and voltage rating against your trip circuit.
