Siemens SENTRON 3VA1032-2ED36-0HC0 — 32 A MCCB with TM210 Release
The Siemens 3VA1032-2ED36-0HC0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 32 A continuous current (Iu) with an 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui). It carries a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release, meaning the thermal element handles overloads and the magnetic element handles short-circuits — no electronic adjustment, just a fixed curve that's predictable for panel coordination. Breaking capacity steps: 52.5 kA at 240 V, 32 kA at 415 V, 13.6 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. That 52.5 kA figure at 240 V gives you headroom on most North American 240/120 V distribution panels; the 32 kA at 415 V covers the common European 400 V three-phase grid. The 7.5 kA at 690 V is enough for most 690 V industrial drives but not for high-fault utility tie points — check your available fault current before specifying. Derating is tight up to 50 °C — the breaker holds its full 32 A rating at 40 °C, 45 °C, and 50 °C. At 55 °C it drops to 30.72 A, at 60 °C to 30.08 A, at 65 °C to 29.44 A, and at 70 °C to 28.8 A. If your panel ambient runs above 50 °C, you lose about 0.64 A per 5 °C step. Plan your continuous load accordingly.
Fit and Integration — Panel Space and Wiring
The 3VA1032-2ED36-0HC0 measures 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, and 70 mm deep. That 76.2 mm width is a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint — it fits the same DIN-rail or panel-mount cutout as other SENTRON 3VA frame breakers. No surprises if you're swapping in from a 3VA10 or 3VA11 frame. IP40 on the front means it's protected against tools and wires over 1 mm, but not against water ingress. Fine for a dry indoor panel; don't put it in a washdown zone without an enclosure. Comes with 2 auxiliary switches (HQ type) and a shunt trip release (STL) — the shunt trip is ordered separately as 3VA9688-0BL30. If your safety circuit needs an undervoltage release, this variant doesn't carry one; you'd need a different order code. No communication module or phase-failure detection on this version.
