SENTRON 3VA1032-3ED36-0DC0 — MCCB for line protection in active production
The Siemens 3VA1032-3ED36-0DC0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a continuous current rating of 32 A across the 40 °C to 50 °C ambient range, derating to 30 A at 70 °C — a curve that matters when you're packing breakers into a hot enclosure near a mill drive or furnace zone. Three-pole construction, rated insulation voltage of 800 V, and interrupting capacity that steps from 75.6 kA at 240 V down to 7.5 kA at 690 V. That 75.6 kA at 240 V gives you headroom for high-fault service-entrance applications; the 7.5 kA at 690 V still clears most industrial feeder faults where the upstream transformer impedance limits through-fault current. This unit ships with an integrated undervoltage release (UVR) and two HQ auxiliary switches — no separate add-on kit to source. The UVR drops the breaker on loss of control voltage, which is standard practice for emergency-stop circuits and safety isolation in conveyor or press lines.
Thermal performance and panel integration
Dimensions: 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. Fits a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint on DIN rail or direct panel mount. The 70 mm depth leaves room for wiring gutters in a 200 mm deep enclosure — no need to oversize the cabinet for this breaker. Power loss is 13.1 W maximum at rated current. In a multi-breaker panel, that's low enough to avoid forced ventilation in most indoor installations, but if you're grouping six or more breakers at full load in a sealed enclosure, add a vent or derate per the manufacturer's grouping factor. Operating temperature range -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. The storage floor matters for winter-site commissioning — the breaker can sit in an unheated warehouse and still start up when the panel is energized.
