What this MCCB is and what it protects
The Siemens 3VA1032-3ED36-0HA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 32 A continuous current in a 3-pole configuration, designated for line protection — meaning it guards feeder and branch circuits against overload and short-circuit, not motor or generator duty. Its breaking capacity ranges from 75.6 kA at 240 V down to 7.5 kA at 690 V, so the same frame covers high-fault panels at lower voltages and still interrupts a 7.5 kA fault on a 690 V line — useful when a single MCCB type must be specified across a mixed-voltage plant. The TM210 overcurrent release is a thermal-magnetic trip unit — the thermal element handles overloads with an inverse-time curve, the magnetic element snaps on short-circuit. No electronic adjustment, no communication module, no ground-fault monitoring on this variant; it's a straight electromechanical protector.
Temperature derating — the real current you get
Rated 32 A at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C. Above that, the continuous current must be reduced: 30.72 A at 55 °C, 30.08 A at 60 °C, 29.44 A at 65 °C, and 28.8 A at 70 °C. If your panel runs hot — say a sealed enclosure near a furnace line — the 32 A nameplate won't hold; plan for the derated figure at your actual ambient. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. The storage limit is wider because the breaker isn't carrying current — that's the handling limit, not the running limit.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions are 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. The 76.2 mm width is three pole pitches. Front protection is IP40 — splash-resistant from the front, but the terminals and sides are not sealed. Mount it inside a panel with at least IP54 enclosure if washdown or dust is present.
Auxiliary release and accessories
This unit includes a shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release — a voltage-triggered coil that lets a remote signal (E-stop, PLC output, safety relay) trip the breaker. The specific accessory order code for the integrated shunt trip is 3VA9688-0BL30. No undervoltage release, no auxiliary contacts, no communication module are fitted on this variant. If you need remote status feedback or undervoltage protection, you'd order a different 3VA configuration or add external aux contacts separately.
