The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1032-4ED46-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) for line protection, rated 32 A continuous with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release. Its interrupting capacity peaks at 121 kA at 240 V, dropping to 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V — figures that govern its use in high-fault industrial distribution panels where selectivity with downstream breakers is required.
Thermal derating and installation fit
The breaker holds its full 32 A rating from 40 °C to 50 °C, then derates to 31 A at 55–60 °C and 30 A at 65–70 °C — a gentle slope that usually avoids de-rating in a ventilated enclosure. Dimensions are 130 mm height, 101.6 mm width, 70 mm depth; the width and 4-pole form factor determine the DIN-rail span and the cut-out in a panel gland plate. Front IP40 protection suits closed-panel mounting. Maximum power loss is 10.6 W, which contributes to the enclosure thermal budget.
Electrical ratings and coordination
The rated insulation voltage is 800 V, giving headroom for 690 V systems. The TM210 release provides fixed thermal and magnetic trip points — not adjustable — so coordination studies should verify that the magnetic pickup clears the minimum fault current at the downstream panelboard. No undervoltage release, no shunt trip, and no communication function are fitted on this variant. The N-conductor is not protected (no 4-pole 4-protection version).
