The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1050-2ED36-0CA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 50 A continuous at 40 °C, designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release and includes an integrated undervoltage release (UVR) for coordinated load shedding or safety disconnects.
Interrupting capacity and selectivity
Interrupting capacity is 52.5 kA at 240 V AC, 32 kA at 415 V, 13.6 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. That 52.5 kA figure at 240 V gives headroom for high-fault panelboards downstream of a large transformer; the 7.5 kA at 690 V covers most 690 V industrial feeds. The 800 V rated insulation voltage means the breaker is suitable for 690 V line-to-line systems without derating the internal isolation.
Thermal derating and panel fit
Continuous current holds at 50 A from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 49 A at 55 °C, 48 A at 60 °C, 46 A at 65 °C, and 45 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient runs above 50 °C, the continuous load must be trimmed by about 1 A per 5 °C rise. Operating range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 17.1 W — factor that into enclosure thermal calculations if the panel is densely packed.
Undervoltage release and control wiring
The factory-integrated undervoltage release (UVR) trips the breaker when control voltage drops below a threshold — useful for emergency-stop circuits that need to drop the main breaker on loss of safety power, or for preventing automatic reclosure after a brownout. The UVR is designated as an undervoltage release type; no voltage trigger or communication function is included. No trip indicator is fitted.
Lifecycle and sourcing
Lifecycle stage is marked current — this is an active, in-production catalog number. No successor has been issued. The breaker is sourced to order through independent distribution; availability and current pricing are confirmed at quote time against an RFQ.
Dimensions and panel integration
Footprint is 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, 70 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB form factor that fits most DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures designed for SENTRON 3VA breakers. The 70 mm depth is shallow enough for most 200 mm deep enclosures with room for rear busbars.
