Siemens 3VA1050-3ED36-0CA0 — 50 A MCCB with TM210 Release and Undervoltage Release
The Siemens 3VA1050-3ED36-0CA0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for line protection, carrying a continuous current of 50 A at 40 °C ambient. Its TM210 thermal-magnetic release provides fixed overload and short-circuit protection curves, and the factory-fitted undervoltage release (UVR) trips the breaker when control voltage drops below the dropout threshold — a standard requirement for emergency-stop and safety isolation circuits in industrial panels. Breaking capacity follows the voltage: 75.6 kA at 240 V AC, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. The 75.6 kA figure at 240 V means this breaker can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without upstream fuses needing to clear first — relevant for high-fault-capacity service-entrance or sub-distribution boards on 240 V line-to-line systems. At 415 V, the 52.5 kA rating still covers most industrial transformer-fed busways. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the operating temperature range spans -25 °C to 70 °C. Note the thermal derating: the breaker holds a full 50 A up to 50 °C, then drops to 49 A at 55 °C, 48 A at 60 °C, 46 A at 65 °C, and 45 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient runs above 50 °C, the continuous load must be reduced accordingly — per the datasheet curve, not guessed.
Physical Fit and Panel Integration
Dimensions: 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. The 76.2 mm width (3 inches) is the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint. No communication function, no ground-fault monitoring, and no trip indicator on this variant. The undervoltage release is the only auxiliary release fitted. If remote signaling or GFCI is needed, this is not the variant — look to the 3VA1 series with electronic releases or communication modules.
