What this MCCB carries — and where it fits
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1050-3ED36-0HC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 50 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release and an integral shunt trip (STL) for remote opening. Interrupting capacity hits 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, and 32 kA at 440 V — numbers that put it squarely in high-fault panel duty, not light commercial. The 70 mm depth and 76.2 mm width mean it lands in the standard SENTRON 3VA footprint; no panel rework for a swap-in.
Ratings that decide the fit
The 50 A continuous rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C, then derates to 48 A at 55 °C, 47 A at 60 °C, 46 A at 65 °C, and 45 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs above 50 °C, you lose 1 A per 5 °C step — factor that into the load calculation. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) covers 480 V and 600 V class systems with headroom. Interrupting capacity is voltage-dependent: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. For a 480 V delta corner-grounded system, the 440 V figure is the closest guide — 32 kA SCCR is substantial but verify against your transformer nameplate.
Built-in trip and aux contacts
The TM210 release is a fixed thermal-magnetic type — no interchangeable rating plugs, so the 50 A frame is what you get. The shunt trip (STL) allows remote tripping via a control signal; the 2 HQ auxiliary switches provide status feedback to a PLC or annunciator. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault module, no communication function on this variant.
Panel fit and mechanicals
Mounts on a DIN rail or panel-mount via the SENTRON base. The 70 mm depth and 76.2 mm width match the standard 3VA frame — drops into existing cutouts without rework. Front IP40 protection keeps dust out of the terminal area; storage range from -40 °C to 80 °C covers most warehouse conditions.
