What this MCCB carries — and what it doesn't
The Siemens 3VA1050-3ED42-0AD0 is a SENTRON 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 50 A continuous current (Iu) at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic trip unit — fixed thermal, fixed magnetic, no electronic adjustment. Interrupting capacity is 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. It ships with three HQ auxiliary switches built in, no undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module, and no voltage trip. This is a straight line-protection breaker for a panel that needs a fixed-trip 50 A feed.
Thermal derating and panel fit
The 50 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C, then steps down: 48 A at 55 °C, 47 A at 60 °C, 46 A at 65 °C, 45 A at 70 °C. Ambient inside the enclosure matters — if the panel runs hot, you lose 5 A by 70 °C. Dimensions are 130 mm tall, 101.6 mm wide, 70 mm deep. Front protection is IP40, so it's fine inside a clean panel but not for washdown zones. No N-conductor protection on this variant.
