What this breaker carries — and what it means for a 50 A line
The Siemens 3VA1050-4ED32-0CH0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 100 circuit breaker rated for 50 A continuous current (In=50 A, Ir=50 A fixed) with a breaking capacity of 36 kA at 415 V AC — class S, meaning it clears faults up to that level without upstream coordination issues in a 415 V distribution panel. Short-circuit protection is fixed at 10 x In (500 A magnetic trip), so it holds motor inrush without nuisance tripping on a 50 A feeder. The thermal-magnetic TM210 release provides line protection — suitable for cable and general load protection, not motor overload (no adjustable class).
Built-in accessories for a tight panel build
This variant ships with a nut keeper kit, an undervoltage release (UVR) rated 120-127 V AC 50/60 Hz, two auxiliary switches HQ, and one trip alarm switch HQ. The UVR drops the breaker on loss of control voltage — typical for emergency-stop chains or undervoltage protection schemes. Auxiliary and alarm contacts give the PLC a hard-wired status of the breaker position and trip condition without needing a separate monitoring module.
