What this MCCB carries and where it fits
The Siemens 3VA1050-4ED36-0AE0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 50 A continuous current (Iu) with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release — the thermal element handles overloads, the magnetic element clears short-circuits. Breaking capacity reaches 121 kA at 240 V AC and 75.6 kA at 415 V AC, so it handles high-fault utility feeds or transformer-secondaries without cascading upstream. Four HQ auxiliary switches (2 NO + 2 NC) are built in for remote status feedback to a PLC or indication lamp. Front protection is IP40, meaning it keeps tools and fingers out but isn't sealed against washdown — panel-mount only, no outdoor exposure.
Thermal derating and real-world current
The 50 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C ambient. Above that it derates: 48 A at 55 °C, 47 A at 60 °C, 46 A at 65 °C, 45 A at 70 °C. If your panel internal temperature runs hot — say next to a drive or transformer — size the load current against the derated value, not the nameplate 50 A. Operating range spans -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
Panel fit — dimensions and auxiliaries
Footprint is 76.2 mm wide × 130 mm high × 70 mm deep — standard 3-pole MCCB width for a 50 A frame, mounts on a DIN rail or direct panel. The four HQ auxiliary switches (2 NO + 2 NC) are wired at the factory; no add-on kit needed. No undervoltage release, no shunt trip, no ground-fault module on this variant — if you need those, look at the same 3VA frame with a different suffix. No communication module either; this is a standalone breaker.
