What the ratings mean for fit
The Siemens 3VA1063-2ED42-0AF0 is a SENTRON 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated 63 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release — that means the thermal element handles overloads and the magnetic element handles short-circuits, no electronic adjustment. The 52.5 kA breaking capacity at 240 V tells you it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without welding contacts or cascading upstream; at 415 V it still holds 32 kA, and at 690 V it's 7.5 kA. For a line protection design, that gives you selectivity headroom in most 400 V distribution panels.
Panel integration and footprint
At 70 mm deep, 101.6 mm wide, and 130 mm tall, this breaker fits the standard SENTRON 4-pole MCCB footprint — it drops into the same DIN-rail or screw-mount panel cutout as the rest of the 3VA1 series. The 17.3 W maximum power loss means you should account for heat rise inside a sealed enclosure; derating from 63 A at 40 °C down to 58 A at 70 °C is already baked into the thermal curve, so no additional fudge factor needed if your ambient stays under 70 °C.
Auxiliary switching and compliance
Factory-fitted with one auxiliary switch and one trip alarm switch (HQ type) — that gives you a remote status signal for the breaker's open/closed and tripped states without wiring a separate accessory. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so it's comfortable in 480/277 V and 400/230 V systems with margin. The TM210 release is a fixed thermal-magnetic unit; no communication function, no ground-fault monitoring, no undervoltage release built in — those are add-on modules if you need them.
