What this 3VA1063-3ED32-0KH0 is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1063-3ED32-0KH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in three-phase distribution. It is a 3-pole unit rated 63 A at 40 °C, with a rated insulation voltage of 800 V. The interrupting capacity scales with system voltage: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at both 500 V and 690 V — so the SCCR headroom you need depends on your fault-current study at the point of common coupling.
Current derating and thermal behavior
This breaker holds its full 63 A rating up to 50 °C ambient. Above that, it derates linearly: 62 A at 55 °C, 61 A at 60 °C, 60 A at 65 °C, and 58 A at 70 °C. If your panel internal ambient runs hot — say, near a row of drives or transformers — account for the 5 A drop at 70 °C. The operating range is -25 °C to +70 °C, with storage from -40 °C to +80 °C.
Auxiliary and trip features
Factory-fitted with 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ configuration), and a shunt trip release (STL). There is no undervoltage release on this variant, and no ground-fault monitoring module. The trip indicator and voltage trigger are present — useful for remote status and alarm annunciation on a PLC digital input.
Panel fit and dimensions
Footprint: 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. The 3-pole MCCB mounts on a standard DIN rail or panel-mount base. At 76.2 mm wide, it occupies three modular spaces — plan your enclosure fill factor accordingly. Maximum power loss is 17.3 W, so ensure ventilation or spacing if grouping several breakers.
