What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1063-3ED36-0DC0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 100 circuit breaker from the 3VA1 series, rated for line protection with a fixed thermal-magnetic TM210 release. It carries a breaking capacity of 25 kA at 415 V (class N), meaning it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without upstream cascading — a key spec for panel coordination in industrial distribution. Overload protection is fixed at Ir = 63 A; short-circuit protection trips at Ii = 10 × In (630 A). The breaker includes a factory-fitted undervoltage release (UVR) for 208–230 V AC 50/60 Hz, plus two HQ auxiliary switches for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator.
Panel integration notes
Mounts on DIN rail via the standard 3VA1 snap-on foot. The clamp-type terminals accept copper conductors without lugs — strip length per Siemens termination guidelines. The UVR coil draws continuous power when the breaker is closed; verify control transformer sizing if the breaker is on a shared 230 V control bus.
