63 A MCCB with TM210 release — line protection for distribution panels
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1063-3ED36-0KA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current (Iu) at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. It holds its full 63 A rating through 50 °C ambient, then derates to 60.48 A at 55 °C and 56.7 A at 70 °C — a thermal curve worth checking if the breaker sits near other heat sources in a dense panel. Interrupting capacity reaches 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, and 32 kA at 440 V, with a 7.5 kA floor at 690 V. That spread covers most low-voltage distribution fault levels in North American and IEC installations without needing a current-limiting upstream device. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the front face carries IP40 protection — fine for a clean indoor panel, but not for washdown or outdoor exposure. The breaker includes a shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release (order code 3VA9688-0BL33 for the integrated trip unit), but no undervoltage release, no auxiliary contacts, no communication module, and no ground-fault monitoring. It is a straightforward line-protection MCCB — no frills, no firmware.
Panel fit and mounting dimensions
The breaker measures 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, and 70 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that fits most DIN-rail or screw-mount panel layouts. Verify the bus-bar takeoff spacing if replacing an older frame; the 76.2 mm width matches the 3VA family pitch, so a panel wired for a 3VA1010 frame accepts this unit without re-drilling the gland plate.
