63 A MCCB with voltage-graded interrupting ratings
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1063-3ED36-0KH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying 63 A continuously at 40 °C ambient. Per the datasheet, the current holds flat at 63 A through 50 °C, then derates to 62 A at 55 °C, 61 A at 60 °C, 60 A at 65 °C, and 58 A at 70 °C — so the full rating is available across most panel interior temperatures without a derate factor. Breaking capacity varies by system voltage: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. That voltage-dependent curve means this breaker is sized for high-fault 240 VAC panels (typically North American commercial) and still handles 52.5 kA at 415 V (common in European industrial networks). At 690 V the 7.5 kA rating limits application to lower-fault installations. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and maximum power loss at rated current is 17.3 W. The breaker includes a trip indicator and a voltage trigger, with an auxiliary switch configuration of 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ), plus a shunt trip (STL) release. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, and no communication function on this variant.
Panel fit and integration
Dimensions are 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. The 3-pole footprint fits standard MCCB panel cutouts and DIN-rail adapter plates. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. The 17.3 W power loss at full load should be factored into enclosure thermal calculations, especially in sealed cabinets.
