63 A MCCB with TM210 thermal-magnetic release — what the ratings mean for panel fit
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1063-3ED42-0AD0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for line protection, carrying a continuous current Iu of 63 A up to 50 °C ambient — at 55 °C it derates to 60.48 A, at 60 °C to 59.22 A, at 65 °C to 57.96 A, and at 70 °C to 56.7 A, so the thermal curve is what governs the actual load you can protect in a warm enclosure. The TM210 overcurrent release combines a thermal bimetal for overload and a magnetic coil for short-circuit; no undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module — this is a straight line-protection device for a distribution subfeed or a large motor branch circuit where you need the interrupting capacity, not auxiliary functions. Interrupting capacity is specified at four voltages: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. For a 415 V distribution panel that means the breaker can safely clear a fault up to 52.5 kA without upstream coordination failure — that is the number to check against your available fault current study. The 690 V rating of 7.5 kA is lower but still sufficient for most 690 V motor circuits where the transformer impedance limits the prospective fault. The breaker is fitted with 3 auxiliary switches (HQ type) for remote status indication — these are wired into the control circuit to signal the breaker's open/closed/tripped state to a PLC or annunciator panel. No trip indicator on the front face, so the auxiliary contacts are the only way to distinguish a trip from a manual open. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the front face carries IP40 protection — suitable for a clean indoor panel, not for washdown environments.

Dimensions: 130 mm height, 101.6 mm width, 70 mm depth. The 70 mm depth is the body depth behind the panel face — relevant for enclosure depth planning when the breaker is mounted on a DIN rail or a mounting plate. Storage temperature range is -40 °C to 80 °C; operating ambient is -25 °C to 70 °C.
