What this 63 A SENTRON MCCB delivers
Its breaking capacity drops with system voltage — 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at both 500 V and 690 V — so the voltage class of your distribution panel directly determines whether this breaker clears a fault without cascading upstream.
Panel fit and thermal derating
The breaker measures 70 mm deep, 101.6 mm wide, and 130 mm high — a standard 4-pole MCCB footprint that mounts on a DIN rail or panel plate. The 63 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C (–); above that it derates to 62 A at 55 °C, 61 A at 60 °C, 60 A at 65 °C, and 58 A at 70 °C.
Because the 3VA1063-3ED42-0DC0 is a line-protection design — not a motor-protective or generator breaker — its trip curve is shaped for cable and busbar protection in distribution subfeeds. For motor branch circuits, pair it with a separate overload relay upstream of the contactor; the MCCB handles short-circuit and back-up protection, not running overload.
