What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1063-3ED46-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) for line protection, rated 63 A at 40 °C with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. It is a 4-pole unit, meaning it switches all three phases and the neutral, sized for main feeder or large sub-feed protection in a distribution panel. Breaking capacity is 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 500 V and 690 V — so at common 400 V class supply it clears 52.5 kA fault current, which covers most industrial service-entrance and feeder applications. The TM210 trip gives fixed thermal and magnetic settings; no electronic adjustment or communication function here.
Where it goes and how it fits
Mounts in a standard distribution board or enclosure — 70 mm deep, 101.6 mm wide, 130 mm high. Four-pole width means it occupies about 4 inches of panel width per unit. Front face carries IP40 protection; fine for dry indoor panels, not for washdown or outdoor exposure. Rated insulation voltage 800 V, so it suits 690 V systems with margin. Operating temperature range -25 °C to 70 °C; current derates above 55 °C — at 65 °C it still carries 60 A, at 70 °C it drops to 58 A. That matters if the breaker sits near transformers or drives in a warm cabinet.
