What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1063-4ED32-0HH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in three-phase distribution panels. It carries a rated current of 63 A at 40 °C and a rated insulation voltage of 800 V, with a breaking capacity that reaches 121 kA at 240 V AC and 75.6 kA at 415 V AC. Rated for continuous operation from -25 °C to 70 °C, it maintains full 63 A rating up to 50 °C, then derates to 58 A at 70 °C — useful to know when packing breakers into a warm enclosure.
Breaking capacity and selectivity
Breaking capacity drops as system voltage rises: 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. That 11.9 kA at 690 V is the limiting figure for high-voltage distribution — if your fault current exceeds that, step up to a higher-rated frame.
Integrated accessories
This breaker ships with a shunt trip (STL) for remote opening and a complement of auxiliary switches: two auxiliary contacts plus one trip-alarm switch (HQ). The shunt trip lets a safety PLC or E-stop circuit drop the breaker without a manual visit to the panel. A trip indicator and voltage trigger are built in, and the design includes undervoltage release as an option (not fitted here). No ground-fault monitoring or communication module on this variant.
