Line protection MCCB with TM210 release and shunt trip
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1063-4ED32-0JC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying a continuous current Iu of 63 A and an insulation voltage Ui of 800 V. The TM210 thermal-magnetic release handles overload and short-circuit protection; the integrated shunt trip (STL) allows remote tripping via a control signal, useful in emergency-stop or interlock circuits. The 121 kA breaking capacity at 240 V AC means it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without cascading upstream—critical for high-available-fault-current industrial panels.
Breaking capacity across voltages
Breaking capacity varies by system voltage: 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V. For a 400 V panel the 75.6 kA figure is the one to size against—confirm the available fault current at the point of installation does not exceed that value, or select a current-limiting upstream device.
Thermal derating and ambient limits
Rated current holds at 63 A from 40 °C through 50 °C. Above 55 °C it begins a gradual derating: 60.48 A at 55 °C, 59.22 A at 60 °C, 57.96 A at 65 °C, and 56.7 A at 70 °C. If the breaker lives in a non-ventilated enclosure near other heat sources, apply this derating curve rather than the nameplate 63 A. Operating ambient range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range -40 °C to 80 °C.
Physical footprint and panel fit
Width 76.2 mm, height 130 mm, depth 70 mm. The 76.2 mm width (3-pole) matches the standard SENTRON 3VA base; it occupies three 25.4 mm module spaces on a DIN rail. Front protection is IP40, so the breaker is suited for enclosed distribution boards—not for washdown environments. The 2 auxiliary switches (HQ type) and shunt trip are factory-integrated; no field-assembly of accessories needed for those functions.
