What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens 3VA1063-4ED36-0JC0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current (Iu) with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release. It carries a 121 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V and 75.6 kA at 415 V — enough headroom for high-fault panelboards without cascading upstream. The shunt trip (STL) allows remote tripping from a PLC safety output or emergency-stop circuit, though there is no undervoltage release or ground-fault module on this variant. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V (Ui), and the breaker carries IP40 protection on the front face — suitable for enclosed distribution boards where the front is behind a door. The 70 mm depth and 76.2 mm width fit the standard SENTRON 3VA mounting footprint, so it drops into existing panel cutouts without re-drilling the gland plate.
Thermal derating and real-world current
The 63 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C. Above that, it derates gradually: 60.48 A at 55 °C, 59.22 A at 60 °C, 57.96 A at 65 °C, and 56.7 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs at 60 °C, plan for a 59 A continuous load maximum — not the full 63 A. The operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C, with storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
Auxiliary contacts and shunt trip
This breaker ships with two high-quality auxiliary switches (2 HQ) factory-fitted. The integrated shunt trip (STL) is wired to terminals on the front; its order code is 3VA9688-0BL32. No communication module, no phase-failure detection, and no other measurement function are included — this is a straight line-protection device. The TM210 release is thermal-magnetic, fixed-trip, no voltage trigger for undervoltage.
Panel fit and compliance
Dimensions: 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. The width matches the standard 3VA 3-pole module (roughly 3 x 25.4 mm). Mounts on a DIN rail or direct panel via the screw terminals. The reference code per DIN EN 81346-2 is Q (circuit protection). For DC network applications, consult the 3VA molded case circuit breaker device manual — the interrupting ratings listed here are for AC only.
