Line protection MCCB with TM210 release
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1063-4ED42-0AC0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, with a rated continuous current Iu of 63 A and a rated insulation voltage Ui of 800 V. The overcurrent release is a TM210 thermal-magnetic type — the thermal element handles overloads, the magnetic element handles short-circuit trips. Breaking capacity is 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V, so it can interrupt high fault currents across common distribution voltages without cascading upstream.
Current rating and thermal derating
The 63 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient. Above that, derating is gradual: 60.48 A at 55 °C, 59.22 A at 60 °C, 57.96 A at 65 °C, and 56.7 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient runs above 50 °C, the effective continuous current drops by roughly 10% at the top end — factor that into the load calculation. The operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions are 70 mm deep, 101.6 mm wide, and 130 mm high. The front face carries an IP40 protection class — suitable for dry indoor panels where no water spray is expected. It ships with 2 auxiliary switches (HQ type) for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator. No undervoltage release, no shunt trip, no ground-fault monitoring, and no N-conductor protection are fitted on this variant.
