What this MCCB delivers for the panel schedule
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1080-2ED42-0JH0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 80 A at 40 °C, designed for line protection in distribution panels. Its 52.5 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V AC gives headroom for high-fault utility feeds; at 415 V it still holds 32 kA, so it coordinates with downstream breakers in a 400 V industrial supply without cascading upstream. The breaker carries a shunt trip (STL) and two auxiliary switches plus a trip alarm switch (HQ), which means the panel builder can wire remote trip and status feedback without adding an external accessory block. The supplied basic switch is order code 3VA10802ED420AA0.
Thermal derating and enclosure fit
Full rated current holds at 80 A up to 50 °C ambient; above that it derates gradually to 74 A at 70 °C. That matters if the breaker sits in a non-ventilated enclosure near other heat sources — the 70 °C operating maximum is the internal air temperature, not the room ambient. Dimensions are 130 mm high, 101.6 mm wide, 70 mm deep. The 101.6 mm width is a standard 4-inch footprint for 4-pole MCCBs, so it fits existing panel cutouts and bus-bar centers without rework.
