MCCB with TM210 release — 80 A, 75.6 kA interrupting capacity
The Siemens 3VA1080-3ED36-0AH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, with a continuous current Iu of 80 A at 40 °C and a 3-pole configuration. Its TM210 thermal-magnetic release provides adjustable overload response (tr max. 1 s) and fixed short-circuit protection, making it a direct fit for distribution panels feeding motor control centers or lighting subpanels. The interrupting capacity reaches 75.6 kA at 240 VAC, 52.5 kA at 415 VAC, and 32 kA at 440 VAC — enough for high-fault utility feeds without cascading upstream breakers. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the auxiliary contact block includes 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch HQ, so the panel PLC gets a positive fault signal without an add-on module.
Panel fit and integration
The breaker measures 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm high — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that drops into most Siemens SENTRON panelboards and wall-mount enclosures without bus-bar rework. Front-side IP40 protection is typical for enclosed distribution gear; the auxiliary contact wiring is pre-terminated on the HQ block, saving panel-builder time. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C, with storage from -40 °C to 80 °C, so it handles unconditioned electrical rooms.
