What this MCCB carries — and what it means on the panel
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1080-3ED42-0HA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for line protection, carrying 80 A continuous current (Iu) at up to 50 °C ambient without derating — above that, the curve steps down to 72 A at 70 °C. The TM210 thermal-magnetic release handles overload and short-circuit, with breaking capacities of 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. That spread means it coordinates well downstream of a transformer or upstream of a distribution board, depending on the available fault current at the tie point. The shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release is built in — order code 3VA9688-0BL30 — so you can remotely trip the breaker from an E-stop or a safety relay without adding an external undervoltage module. No auxiliary contacts, no communication module, no ground-fault monitoring on this variant; it's a clean line-protection block with remote-trip capability.
Panel fit and mounting
Footprint is 130 mm high, 101.6 mm wide, 70 mm deep — a standard 4-pole MCCB envelope that fits most DIN-rail or screw-mount backplates without re-drilling the gland plate. IP40 on the front keeps dust out of the mechanism; the enclosure is rated for indoor panel use, not washdown.
