80 A MCCB with 121 kA interrupting capacity
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1080-4ED32-0AC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 80 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release. Its interrupting capacity reaches 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, and 52.5 kA at 440 V — enough to handle high-fault utility feeds or transformer secondaries without cascading upstream. The 70 mm depth and 76.2 mm width fit standard SENTRON panel footprints; front IP40 protection keeps dust out of the enclosure face.
Current-carrying capacity across temperature
The breaker holds 80 A from 40 °C up to 50 °C without derating. At 55 °C it steps to 76.8 A, then 75.2 A at 60 °C, 73.6 A at 65 °C, and 72 A at 70 °C. That thermal curve means a panel at 50 °C ambient gets full rated current; above that, the load must be trimmed or the breaker upsized.
Auxiliary contacts and release configuration
The breaker ships with 2 auxiliary switches (HQ type) for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator. No undervoltage release, no voltage trigger, no ground-fault monitoring, and no communication function are fitted on this variant. The TM210 overcurrent release is fixed — no interchangeable trip unit.
