What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1080-4ED36-0CA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated 80 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release and an integrated undervoltage release (UVR). Three-pole construction, line-protection design — no communication module, no ground-fault monitoring. Breaking capacity is 121 kA at 240 V AC, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V — numbers that govern selectivity and SCCR in the panel schedule. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so it handles 690 V line-to-line circuits with headroom.
Thermal derating and panel fit
Full 80 A rating holds through 50 °C ambient. At 55 °C it derates to 78 A, at 65 °C to 75 A, and at 70 °C to 74 A — useful for a sealed or high-ambient enclosure where the breaker shares heat with other devices. Dimensions: 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. Standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for DIN-rail or panel-mount integration.
