What this MCCB is and what it carries
The 3VA1080-4ED42-0DC0: The 80 A rating holds across the 40–50 °C band, then derates to 78 A at 55 °C, 77 A at 60 °C, 75 A at 65 °C, and 74 A at 70 °C — so in a warm panel you lose about 6 A by the time ambient hits 70 °C. The 121 kA at 240 V is the headline breaking figure; at 415 V it still clears 75.6 kA, at 440 V it manages 52.5 kA, and at 500 V or 690 V it holds at 11.9 kA. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the maximum power loss is 21.7 W. The operating temperature range spans -25 °C to 70 °C, with storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
Built-in undervoltage release and auxiliary switches
This MCCB ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) fitted as standard — designated as an undervoltage release (UVR) in the design of the auxiliary release. It also carries two auxiliary switches (HQ type) for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator panel. No communication function, ground-fault monitoring, or trip indicator is included on this variant. The basic switch supplied is order code 3VA10804ED420AA0.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions are 130 mm height, 101.6 mm width, and 70 mm depth. The 70 mm depth is the dimension that matters when fitting into a shallow enclosure or against a gland plate — it dictates the minimum back-panel clearance. The 101.6 mm width (4 inches) is standard for a 4-pole MCCB in the SENTRON 3VA frame, so it drops into existing busbar or lug layouts without re-drilling.
