Line protection MCCB with 75.6 kA interrupting capacity
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1096-3ED32-0KA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 16 A continuous current, built for line protection in distribution panels. Its interrupting capacity hits 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, and 32 kA at 440 V — enough to clear high-fault feeds without cascading upstream. The TM210 thermal-magnetic release handles overload and short-circuit trip curves; a factory-integrated shunt trip (STL) allows remote emergency-off or undervoltage disconnection via the 3VA9688-0BL33 auxiliary trip module.
Thermal derating and panel fit
Carries the full 16 A up to 50 °C ambient; above that it derates linearly to 14.4 A at 70 °C — a useful curve for hot enclosures or furnace-side installations where the breaker shares space with heat-generating gear. The 76.2 mm width and 70 mm depth fit standard DIN-rail or panel-mount cutouts; IP40 on the front means it tolerates tool contact but not washdown. Mechanical endurance is rated at 15 000 cycles, adequate for switchgear duty where the breaker is not cycled daily.
