What It Is and What It Does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1110-1AA42-0JC0 is a 4-pole switch disconnector built in an MCCB-style housing (IEC frame 160). It carries a continuous 100 A rating across the full 40 °C to 70 °C ambient range — no derating needed up to that temperature, which simplifies panel thermal budgeting. Rated for 690 V AC or 600 V DC, it serves as a manual load-break disconnect for isolating motor feeders, distribution subfeeds, or machine infeed sections. This variant ships without overload or short-circuit protection — it is a pure disconnect, not a circuit breaker. The integrated shunt trip (STL) coil, rated 110–127 V DC/AC 50/60 Hz, allows remote or emergency-off tripping. Two HQ-rated auxiliary contacts (form C) provide status feedback to a PLC or safety relay.
Panel Fit and Integration
Dimensions are 130 mm high, 101.6 mm wide, and 70 mm deep — a 4-pole MCCB footprint that drops into standard DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures. Main circuit connections are busbar-type front terminals, which keep wiring organized in multi-feeder panels. The front face carries IP40 protection, adequate for enclosed distribution boards but not for washdown zones. A motor-drive option is available as an accessory (field-installable), enabling remote motorized operation for automated disconnection sequences.
