What this MCCB carries
The Siemens 3VA1110-3EF36-0BC0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) sized for line protection in distribution panels. It is a 3-pole unit rated 100 A continuously at 40 °C, with a maximum interrupting capacity of 75.6 kA at 240 V AC. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) means it is built for 480/600 V class systems with comfortable margin. This breaker includes an undervoltage release (UVR) as the auxiliary release, plus two HQ auxiliary switches for status feedback. The UVR trips the breaker if control voltage drops below a set threshold — useful for safety circuits that need to drop power on loss of control supply.
Breaking capacity across voltages
The interrupting rating drops as system voltage rises: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. That 11.9 kA at 690 V is the floor — it still handles most industrial fault levels at that voltage, but verify against your available fault current if feeding a 690 V bus.
Thermal derating and panel fit
Rated 100 A from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient. Above that it derates: 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, 91 A at 70 °C. If the breaker lives in a hot enclosure — near other heat sources or in a non-ventilated panel — use the 70 °C column (91 A) as your continuous design limit. Maximum power loss is 27.5 W, so factor that into enclosure thermal calculations. Dimensions: 76.2 mm wide (3 in), 130 mm tall (5.12 in), 70 mm deep (2.76 in). That 76.2 mm width is a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint — fits most panel-mounted or DIN-rail adapters without surprises. Operating range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
